Engine Compartment
The engine compartment needs a lot of work. The engine is the most important part of the demo car.
It is what wins the demo for you. If your engine doesn't run, won't win.
The following are things that need to be done to the engine compartment:
- Remove everything that has to do with the air conditioner
- Take out heater core and all plastic that surrounds it
- Take fan off of water pump pulley to allow more clearance for radiator
- Wrap raditor hose in wire then wrap in duct tape to prevent swelling
- Remove all wires that control dash components, excluding the ignition swith
- Set timing so the car idols smooth when hot (every car is different)
- Wrap plug wires in tin foil so they don't melt
- Run fuel line from fuel tank in back seat to the engine
- Hood pipes are always loved by fans!
